Clinic
Gatley Physiotherapy Clinic is run by
Colette Ingham and Caroline Dobson, who are both Chartered
Physiotherapists with over 20 years experience.
The clinic
at Rose Cottage opened in June 2005, with Caroline
and Colette having worked in Gatley from the Old
Hall Clinic since 1994.
The clinic is wheelchair friendly, with extra
wide doorways and a disabled toilet.There is free
parking to the rear of the clinic.
GPC not only offers physiotherapy but also treatments
that compliment physiotherapy such as podiatry, remedial/sports
massage, reflexology, Alexander technique, chiropody,
life coach and acupuncture.
Your team of physiotherapists
All physiotherapists at Gatley Physiotherapy
Clinic are Chartered (CSP) and members of the Health Professions
Council (HPC). All our physiotherapists have either worked
or continue to work at senior levels within the NHS. They
all continue to widen their knowledge by attending post–graduate
courses and conferences. The ‘hands – on’
approach is favoured in most treatments.
Colette
Ingham
Qualified
from Withington Hospital in 1986 and worked full time
in the NHS before setting up Gatley Physiotherapy Clinic
in 1995 with Caroline Dobson. Colette has gained extensive
experience in the field of musculoskeletal/ sports injuries
by working with the England and Great Britain Volleyball
teams, attending British Olympic Training Camps and
enjoys club tennis. She has aldo worked with local rugby
and football clubs. Her sporting interests continue
whilst playing and coaching netball.
She enjoys using Pilates and CoreStability
exercises, particularly using gym balls for the rehabilitation
of many injuries.
Colette also specialises in the treatment of whiplash
injuries (member of the Medicolegal Association of Chartered
Physiotherapists) and shoulder and elbow problems, regularly
attending the North West Upper Limb Group (NWULG) meetings.
She has lectured at Salford University to the physiotherapy
degree students and lectures at Manchester University
on physiotherapy postgraduate courses.
Since 1995 Colette has been the on-site physiotherapist
for the BBC, Manchester treating many musicians during
her time there.
Caroline
Dobson
Also
qualified in1986 from Withington Hospital and worked
full time in the NHS at various local hospitals and
local private hospitals before joining together with
Colette setting up Gatley Physiotherapy Clinic in 1995.
Caroline specialises in the treatment of musculoskeletal,
sporting and whiplash injuries having attended many
postgraduate courses since qualification. She is a member
of the North West Upper Limb Group (NWULG) and regularly
attends their meeting to keep up to date with recent
advances in the treatment of shoulder and elbow problems.
In the late 1980’s Caroline spent time being physiotherapist
to local rugby clubs and then physiotherapist to the
Men’s Great Britain Volleyball squad.
Jacqui
Simon
Qualified
in 1993 from Manchester Royal Infirmary School of Physiotherapy
and furthered her knowledge by completing a Diploma
in Physiotherapy for sport in 1998. She utilized her
sporting knowledge when she was physiotherapist for
the Bradford Diving Squad, The North West Region under
19 Badminton Squad and was a volunteer physiotherapist
at The Commonwealth Games in Manchester, 2002.
Jacqui is a keen runner taking part in many 10km runs and the Wilmslow half marathon. She has recently taken up rock climbing, ballet and jazz and can therefore identify with with a variety of sporting injuries.
Jacqui is a member of the Acupuncture Association of
Chartered Physiotherapists (AACP).
Helen
Harrison
Following
qualification from Manchester School of Physiotherapy
in 1999, Helen shares her time between GPC and the Greater
Manchester Police Occupational Health Department.
Helen has attended many post graduate courses to extend
her clinical skills in the treatment of spinal problems
and sporting injuries.
Teresa Yeats
Teresa Yeats graduated from the University of Liverpool in 2003. Since then she has worked in a variety of NHS trusts and is currently a highly specialist musculoskeletal physiotherapist at Salford Royal NHS trust. Teresa has a special interest in treating the TMJ (Jaw) and is a member of the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Temporal Mandibular Dysfunction (ACPTMD). She has experience ranging from regularly treating singers to long term conditions. She also specialises in dizziness, treating many vestibular conditions including BPPV, vestibular neuritis, menieres and cervical dizziness.
Teresa is experienced in treating all musculoskeletal conditions including spinal pain, whiplash and sports injuries using a variety of techniques. She is a member of the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (AACP), treating a variety of pain related musculoskeletal conditions.
Teresa is currently studying for an MSc in Orthopaedic Management at the University of Salford. Away from her studies, she is a keen runner, cyclist and regularly enjoys gym classes including spinning.
Rebecca
Carter
Rebecca graduated form Manchester University with
a physiotherapy degree in 2000. She has recently studied
at Masters level in Extended Proficiencies and Injection
Therapy.
Since qualifying she has worked at Withington, Wythenshawe
and Hope hospitals gaining experience in musculoskeletal,
neurological, neurosurgery, elderly, orthopaedics and
acupuncture. She has been working in the private sector
for 8 years and is happy to be part of Gatley Physiotherapy
Clinic.
Her job has rapidly progressed primarily through the
NHS. Rebecca has had specialist training within the
NHS to manage upper limb problems especially shoulder
conditions as an Extended Scope Physiotherapist. She
works privately and in the NHS with Manchester’s
finest upper limb surgeons to use the latest evidence
based physiotherapy techniques to rehabilitate her patients
to their optimum function whether it is sport, manual
work or any hobby.
Rebecca also treats all other musculoskeletal conditions
such as whiplash, back pain, arthritis and sports injuries
using exercise, core stability, mobilisation, acupuncture,
massage and electrotherapy. She believes that patients
respond to treatment by allowing patients to understand
of their problems.
Her passion in dance has given her over 20 years of
experience, both performing and teaching and she enjoys
treating dancers of all abilities from school children
to professional ballerinas to pop artists.
Paul Harrison
Paul qualified in 1998 achieving a first class honours degree in Physiotherapy. He started working at Gatley Physiotherapy Clinic in 1999 until 2003 before returning again in 2007.
Paul has an interest in many areas of musculoskeletal physiotherapy including manual therapy, exercise rehabilitation, acupuncture and core stability.
Paul is continually extending his knowledge in the field of musculoskeletal problems attending many courses with a particular interest in sports injuries. He has also worked in both NHS and private hospitals working closely with many local consultants.
Paul enjoys spending time with his family, playing football, cycling, and golf, but not as often as he would like!
